Bernard and Damien Aujard tend 6 hectares (15 acres) of vines on the clay-limestone terroir of Lazenay situated at the confluence of the rivers Arnon and Théols, some 12 miles (19 km) South of Vierzon in the heart of the Reuilly area.
Bernard used to be mayor of Lazenay, but has stretched his loyalties as far as a couple of parcels of vines in the lieux-dits of ‘Les Enaudes’ and ‘Laleuf’ in Reuilly. With Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris vines, the Aujard reputation has been made by the light, early-drinking Reuilly Rouge which is much-prized locally.
Practically all the Aujards' production has been sold to local private clients and restaurants, so their wines have been little seen outside of the Berry, but we have secured stock of both the famed Reuilly Rouge and Reuilly Blanc to bring the Aujards' wines to a wider audience.
