Caves Jean Bourdy Côtes du Jura Blanc Savagnin

Domaine Jean Bourdy

The Côtes du Jura Savagnin is made from the same grapes as Jura's famous Vin Jaune and they consequently share many characteristics, producing a richer, spicier and more aromatic white than the Côtes du Jura Blanc made with Chardonnay grapes.

The Savagnin is aged in small oak barrels for 4 - 5 years before bottling, and should be opened 3 - 4 hours before drinking. It's at its best served at a cool room temperature of 15 - 16C.

Simple, rich, deep, powerful and - extraordinarily - almost unknown, perhaps because of the very small quantities in which it has been made over the centuries.
