Laurent Perraud is an extremely dedicated vigneron. The Melon de Bourgogne is a very neutral grape, so the quality and distinctiveness of the wine made from them is dependant on the terroir, the yield and ageing on its lees.
Laurent gets five stars for all of the above, his wine being a excellent example of this increasingly rediscovered wine. With bright acidity and a classic minerally finish over apple and citrus flavours, it just goes to show how good Muscadet can be if given a little bottle age.
The classic accompaniment to a platter of Fruits de Mer: oysters and mussels and prawns - oh my!
